DELIVERY / INSTALLATION

Delivery to 3rd party (tailgate/ground floor only) will be charged at 6% of the retail value of the goods delivered with a minimum charge of £30. Installation if required will be charged at 14% of the retail value of the goods installed with a minimum charge of £60.

GUARANTEE

Desk-Link products are guaranteed against defective materials/workmanship under conditions of normal wear & tear from installation date as follows: Beam / Tungsten / Antaris: 10 years. Contract / Screens: 5 years. Economy seating: 12 months All other seating: 5 years against structural faults in manufacture. Damage resulting from misuse, general wear & tear, lack of proper maintenance or upholstery fabrics are exempt from this guarantee. The guarantee is reduced to 2 years when the products are in 24 hour use. Steel: 5 years against structural faults in manufacture. Damage resulting from careless or incorrect use, general wear & tear, and lack of proper maintenance are exempt from this guarantee.

STORAGE

All storage is supplied assembled. When placing accessories into cupboards and bookcases they MUST be fitted from the bottom upwards. Pull-out filing frames should not be fitted higher than 1200mm and it is strongly recommended that only 1 frame is extended at any one time.

DESKING / TABLES

All desking & tables are supplied KD and designed to be lifted ONLY not dragged along the floor.

MFC BOARD

Wood grain - Due to variations in the wood grain as supplied by the manufacturers, we cannot guarantee continuity of grain patterns throughout the furniture.

  1. All orders are confirmed within 24 hours of receipt by e-mail.
  2. Confirmations should be checked, and any discrepancies reported to us (in writing) within 24 hours of receipt. Your order will automatically enter the manufacturing process after this time.
  3. If it then becomes necessary to change or cancel your order then a cancellation penalty of 25% of the net order value will be incurred. This penalty can be mitigated only in the following circumstances:
    1. The order has not entered the production system – charge restricted to 5% to cover all administration costs.
    2. The order is replaced with one of similar or greater value – charge restricted to 15% as a goodwill gesture. There are no circumstances under which a non-standard product or special can be cancelled without incurring a 100% charge.

Desk-Link markets its products through Distributors whose distribution channels to the market include, Specialist Office Interiors, General Office Product Retailer (Stationers), Internet Retailers, and Mail Order Companies. .

In general terms Desk-Link’s Distribution of smaller orders is through it’s Regional Distribution Centres (addresses on the back page) and larger consignments are sent straight from the factory in South Wales using it’s fleet of 40’ Articulated and 17½ ton box lorries to the Distributors and quite often to the end user addresses following agreement with the Distributor. This assists with the economics of distribution and reduces handling and the incidences of damage caused by excessive handling.

It is not Desk-Link’s policy to sell to end users since its local distributors are better equipped to provide a local service. However, very often depending on resources available Desk-Link supplements and stands behind it’s distributors as necessary. This is done either throughout its Regional Distribution Centres or from the South Wales Head Office and Factory.

Projects up to £1.4m in value (in excess of 3300 pieces of furniture) have been handled in this way, both in the UK and overseas.

The Regional Distribution Centres manage distribution according to Post Codes and the map shown identifies each centre and the postcodes they service. The Desk-Link website (www.desklink.co.uk) gives up to date information of service and personnel involved.

The Regional Distribution centres are managed by General Managers who are principally office based to ensure that the Sales Order Processing and Distribution Services are of the highest standard.

The Factory and the Regional Distribution centres are supported by regional Sales Managers whose responsibility it to ensure all aspects of Product, Sales and Distribution activities are covered to our Distributors satisfaction. These personnel are mobile at all times and available to assist on the spot.
